Gideon-
Awesome tutorials! When I saw your first one, I just had to find the FreeMind program (I noticed its title on your desktop in between other websites you were showing!) It really is a great planning tool.
I know you’re going to share video tools next, (and Screenr is really good too), I had been using another tool called Screentoaster.com. It allows not only screencasting, but a mini cam feed overlay option, as well. Not the greatest quality video (kind of like a low-end Skype), and also not totally compatible with YouTube and the visibility you can get there, but it does give you great free practice for conducting a live webinar, and no five minute limit!
Thanks for all of the tips you share in your various formats. It’s refreshing to see some real content in the IM world. I’ll see you on Twitter!
Hey Steve
Thanks for your very welcome feedback!
Much appreciated!
I have just checked out http://ScreenToaster.com and it’s a pretty cool service. And I like how there does not seem to be a time limit on that – is that your understanding too?
But I agree with you, http://Screenr.com is still better. I think Screenr will also improve as they go along. They seem very helpful and keen to server – my kind of company!
Thanks again!
Gideon
Yeehaa, all great tools I still use myself…
One related tool that I keep looking for is a kind of dashboard where I could see at a glance what time it is in say 4 different places in the world. There are some okay ones for Windows to do that, do you know any for the Mac?
Hey Juho
Yeah they are all really amazing tools. I still remember that it was you who introduced me to FreeMind and MindMeister!
You can install a neat little widget on your Mac Dashboard called Time Map. That will allow you to select different times zones and see them all at the same time. It even shows you graphically where day and night is on a little map!
You can find it here:

And you can find other Mac approved Dashboard Widgets here:

Have fun!

Yehesh! Time Map on the Mac Dashboard is awesome!
I can’t believe you can get an app like that free for the Mac, I had to pay to get even close to that on the PC…. (- insert humorous pro-Mac blurb here -)
This just made my day, so thanks!
LOL!
That’s EXACTLY what I thought too!
Mac RULZ!

Okay now I just can’t resist…
Speaking of Apple’s rulesome ways….
That’s not the whole story!
Check this out for the gruesome truth:

LOL!
All I can say after watching that is… incredible, amazing, awesome!!!
Hehehe…

Hi Gideon,
Great series! I really enjoy your screencasts!
I am looking into screenr and wonder if you can use overlaytv with with your screenr screencasts? What do you think?
Thanks!
Hey Zolt
I can’t see why not! But I think you may have to upload your videos to YouTube first and then use Overlay.tv. But luckily Screenr.com gives you that easy option to upload the videos to YouTube – pretty cool!
Talk soon!
Gideon
Gideon I think I’ve been on your site for a couple of hours now, I’m hooked on all the great content! I couldn’t believe it when I saw that Time Map link in your reply above, I’ve been looking for something like that for ages. Thanks so much for sharing, it’s a great little tool!
Thanks again for the S3 and Bucket Explorer videos too, I’ve finally gotten them both set up.
Hey Michelle
Thanks for the great feedback!
I’m so glad you’re finding my new blog useful, because that’s the exact reason why I set it up in the first place – to help people like YOU
All the best!
Gideon Shalwick
