How I Got Started With Entrepreneurship
Originally I started out with Engineering and Master in Engineering Management degrees, but soon realized that the business world was WAY more fun!
Then, in late 2006, after a successful career in project management and business development for various hi-tech companies, I decided to quit my job, emigrate to Australia, and start my own business – not having a clue where to start!
In two short years, I became an international author with my books on entrepreneurship, lead generation and blogging distributed and read all over the world.
One of my books, The Roadmap To Become A Blogger, has been downloaded over 35,000 times now.
Another co-authored book in the magic niche has now been downloaded over 30,000 times.
And my latest book, Rapid Video Blogging, has already been downloaded over 17,000 times in only the last few weeks!

Just wanted to tell readers that Gideon’s products are great. My wife and I used Gideon’s product Become A Blogger to launch our website http://www.inspirationtheride.com. He provides great information for a great value. You get your money’s worth.
The best thing I like is his ability to put the information simply on a video. Although I took a C++ computer programming class while I was studying nuclear engineering, I had no clue how to do most of the things that Gideon shows you how to do in his videos. His free series alone can get you started. The icing on the cake is the paid how-to videos you get in the become a blogger program.

I teach people how to play piano by ear and have been online for 3 years. I’m currently using screenflow and need to know how to get extra clear videos for subscribers to my membership. I want extra good quality.

I am 40, Afrikaans – but performed in Bloem at the Andre Hugenout theatre for many years as “Andre The Hilarious Hypnotist”, actually performing in Bloem again in a months time. As a matter of fact we had heaps of Grey College Students at the shows (they had to come in uniform) and one of my family members “gordon-davis” was a student their – exact year escapes me.

I love your work but I have a request. I was hoping that you could add favicons to your sites.
I currently have my important sites including gideonshalwick.com, becomeablogger.com/blog/, and becomeablogger.com/premium/member-forum/ setup as faviconized tabs (firefox addon) but these last three sites have no favicon so they unfortunately look identical.

Hi, I’m looking at enhancing my item advert on ebay, using a You Tube video & after reading their policies, I can only embed a video that advertises my item..& at the end of my vid, all these other ads/vids come up to click on..is there a setting or how do you stop this from showing? When you click on the embed options for your YouTube video, there should be a check box labelel “Include related videos” – just make sure this box is unchecked before you copy the embed code for your video.

Hey Gideon. I’ve been a fan since Become a Blogger, and have considered Vlogging or Podcasting.
But, if you ever knew me, my age group doesn’t really allow me to do that, even though I’d really like to put up videos, or better, podcasts (but sadly at the moment, videos are a much better way) on YouTube.
The #1 factor in this is my voice on camera, it squeaks up, and it’s totally fail. Other than that, I don’t have the money or it’s not already in my home to buy a good microphone or webcam.
I myself have considered making money online, but once I found out that you need to have a credit card to access PayPal fully, I gave up. Now I want to blog for the sake of blogging and being heard, but I’d love to Vlog or Podcast.
Do you have any tips for my dilemma?

Maybe it’s just a matter of time and experience for you.
For me I’ve certainly had to practice a lot.
And with every video I still seem to learn something new.

I’m 13, actually… I know on Yaro’s (old) forums, a lot of the community thought it was cool for kids to start making money through blogging, so I’ve started posting my age everywhere. Haha.
Maybe, definitely my niche requires both screencasting and face-casting, though my niche isn’t so good! Haha!

Within the few days between Rapid Video Blogging and now (well actually, a few days after it came out…because I joined after), did you notice your list has already grown 3000+! WOW!

Before I start my comment, I’d just like to say I’m stuck in the same dilemna as TechyRadhika, my age group. I’m actually going to hit a surprise on my parents with AdSense. Due to the factor that I don’t really know what I’d do with the money, and I just want it to see how much I could make, I’m not going to tell them, and see them rip up (or keep!) some AdSense check that’ll come in the mail soon.
As for my comment, I’m reading your Rapid Video Blogging right now, and I have to say, I really like it, because I know what you’re saying is true. I’ve followed you since BecomeABlogger, and saw FreeMagicLive become good too, so I actually understand what you’re saying! Because it worked on me! (Not the buying part, yet).
Lots of other eBooks I’ve read, I don’t understand because I don’t know the story of the writer, even though it may seem true.
So this eBook, Yaro’s Blog Profits BluePrint, and The Roadmap to Become a Blogger are my top 3, because I understood them. This also has to do with both of your writing capabilities, you guys are the first I go to when looking for Internet Marketing.

And also, for my genre, you don’t really “need” close-up face kind of things. You need a screen recorder, annotations, and background music to be successful, with a good video editor.
Could you recommend me a screen recorder and a good video editor? It doesn’t have to be free.

I’m looking at Jing Project and Screenr, my first video was up through Screenr, and it was my fault it came out so bad, haha.
But, I tried Jing Project on one of the games I’m using (sub-topics), and it didn’t work. It might work on the 14 other games (Lol), but I’d have to check.
I didn’t try Screenr on any games yet, so I should, though the fact that it’s from an internet browser DOES matter. (I try not to have internet open while playing, it’s distracting to my progress.)

I just use Amazon S3 for storing my video files (flv format). So that seems to work really well for me.
For my members area, I still use a WordPress blog, with the Flash Player Plugin – that works like magic!

If you right click on my YouTube background (or anyone for that matter) you should be able to view the background image in isolation. You can then download it and use it as a template for your own design.

I’m a chinese traditional music teacher, and I know how to play a few traditional chinese musical instrument.
