<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">Hi There! And Welcome to another video&#8230;</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">Inside this video, I&#8217;m gonna talk about my 7 top tips for growing your email list as a blogger.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">Now, as you might know.. Growing your email list is the most important things you can do for growing your online business.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">If you don&#8217;t have an email list, your leaving a lot of money on the table.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">So inside this video I&#8217;m gonna talk about 7 top tips from me that you can use for growing your email list. Some ver very cool tips.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">Now hang on until the end of this video because there&#8217;s something really interesting and I will share to you where you can find a lot more cool tips for helping you make your blog a lot more profitable too.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">So let&#8217;s get into it without further ado.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">The first step is to increase the value of the thing that you give away as part of the thing that people signed up for on your newsletter.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">So this is really important, the more valuable you can make this the more people you gonna got to sign up for your newsletter.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">It&#8217;s just as simple as that. So offer them as a free report, or a video, or a audio file that people can download. Whatever it is make it as valuable as possible.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">Number 2 is to have a newsletter signup box on your blog. Very important.. Have it at the top somewhere so that people can see it and it&#8217;s obvious so that they can signup in your newsletter.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">Absolutely critical, I used Aweber to help me do this. I grabbed the code that Aweber provides me, and then I put that code in the sidebar, on the sidebar widget on my blog. And that&#8217;s how I do it.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">Number 3 is to have a lightbox hover on your blog. Now, this is  one of those popup boxes that come up and asks you to enter your email address and name.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">Some people think it&#8217;s a little bit annoying, a little bit spammy but the truth is it can double your optin rate. Everytime that I&#8217;ve done this in any of my blogs that I&#8217;ve run, the optin rate is always doubled or atleast doubled. So I really recommend that you do it because it works.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">I don&#8217;t care about everyone else says.. wether it&#8217;s spammy or wether it looks ugly, it works! And if you can grow your email list twice as fast, you can become successful twice as fast. Cool!</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">Number 4 is to use something called the ultimate footer ad. This is a little script that you can install on your blog or website.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">Basically it allows or creates little footer popup on the  bottom of your blog that asks people the same thing for their first name and email address.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">It&#8217;s a little bit lessen choice than a popup window from tip number 3 the lightbox hover popup.. That&#8217;s an alternative if you don&#8217;t like the pop up thing.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">But it&#8217;s not gonna be as effective, but still it will help you get more optins.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">The next one up is to get signups from blog commentators. This is kind of new one to me and I&#8217;ll be implementing it very soon. And I will tell you soon why I haven&#8217;t yet.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">You can do this by using a plugn called Action Comments. The plugin is called Action comments, what it does basically is everytime someone leaves a comment on your blog,</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">it sends them an email and you can decide what you wanna put inside this email. But basically you can ask people to signup for your newsletter. Very very cool.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">So your heading the iron wall that&#8217;s hot basically. As people leave a comment you ask them to signup for your newsletter. How cool is that?</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">So there already on your blog , and they still remember you and immediately  you ask them to signup. Very cool.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">Number 6 is to get signups from RSS readers. Now for this you will use plugin called Feed Footer.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">What it does  basically is it allows you to add some text inside your RSS feed at the end of each post.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">And so inside there you can ask people to sign up for your newsletter. So you can just add text, add links.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">Very cool, so people click on it, your RSS followers click on it and go to your optin page.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">Finally is to get signups from Facebook. And for this you need Facebook fanpage, you need an Aweber autoresponder account, and you&#8217;ll need a little facebook application called Facebok Static FBML.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">And basically use these things together to help you create an optin page on your facebook fanpage.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">So these are lot of things here those are the 7 things..</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">Increase the value for what your giving away</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">Have a newsletter signup box on your sidebar, very visible</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">Use the lightbox hover</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">Use the ultimate footer ad</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">Get signups from blog commentators</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">Signups from RSS readers</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">Signups from Facebook</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">Those are my top 7 tips, but actually they are not really my top tips. I actually got them from this right report right here from Jhon Chow.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">These 7 tips are really just from one chapter from this report. I just got it from Jhon today, I just downloaded it.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">As you can see it&#8217;s pretty chunky, it&#8217;s about 60 pages inside this report and this is just from one of the chapters.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">So it&#8217;s chuck full of really really great information helping you to grow your blog to make it more profitable.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">Now you can get the copy of this. It&#8217;s totally free, remmeber the first point to make the value of your giving away really valuable.</div>

<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">If you want to get access to this, look for the link below this video or inside the description area of this video either on the bottom or on the side and click on that.</div>

<div id="_mcePaste" style="position: absolute; left: -10000px; top: 689px; width: 1px; height: 1px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: hidden;">So that&#8217;s it for me, those are the 7 tips. I hope you found them useful and I look forward to seeing you inside my next video</div>
<p>Hi There! And Welcome to another video&#8230;</p>
<p>Inside this video, I&#8217;m gonna talk about my 7 top tips for growing your email list as a blogger.</p>
<p>Now, as you might know.. Growing your email list is the most important things you can do for growing your online business.  If you don&#8217;t have an email list, your leaving a lot of money on the table.</p>
<p>So inside this video I&#8217;m gonna talk about 7 top tips from me that you can use for growing your email list. Some ver very cool tips.</p>
<p>Now hang on until the end of this video because there&#8217;s something really interesting and I will share to you where you can find a lot more cool tips for helping you make your blog a lot more profitable too.</p>
<p>So let&#8217;s get into it without further ado.</p>
<p>The first step is to increase the value of the thing that you give away as part of the thing that people signed up for on your newsletter. So this is really important, the more valuable you can make this the more people you gonna got to sign up for your newsletter. It&#8217;s just as simple as that. <p>Number 4 is to use something called the ultimate footer ad. This is a little script that you can install on your blog or website. Basically it allows or creates little footer popup on the  bottom of your blog that asks people the same thing for their first name and email address. It&#8217;s a little bit lessen choice than a popup window from tip number 3 the lightbox hover popup.. <p>Have you ever created something really &#8220;creative&#8221; and then afterward, when you look at it, you think&#8230; &#8220;That does not make any sense, but it felt good while I created it!&#8221;?</p>
<p>That&#8217;s what used to happen to me. I would create some pretty cool content, but when I would read or listen to or watch it again afterward, it often would not make sense.</p>
<p>And then I started experimenting with what I call &#8220;Structured Creativity&#8221;, and started getting some really amazing results. Some things I&#8217;ve been able accomplish with this method include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Writing a 200+ page book in 21 days</li>
<li>Writing a 60+ report in a weekend</li>
<li>Writing 80+ report in about 2 weeks</li>
</ul>
<p>A lot of people take a lifetime to write a new book. With my method, I believe it&#8217;s possible to write at least one new book every year&#8230; or even every 6 months!</p>
<p>Try it. Give it a go. And let me know what kind of results you get.</p>
<p>To your super fast content creation!</p>

<p>Hi there,</p>
<p>Gideon Shalwick here and welcome to my forest. This is the forest that I live in and I thought I&#8217;d do something different today. I&#8217;m recording inside the little rainforest and I&#8217;m going to tell you a few things about online marketing, video blogging and all that sort of stuff.</p>
<p>What I want to talk about today is something that I&#8217;ve discovered that is really valuable for creating amazing content. Whether it&#8217;s for your blog, a book you&#8217;re writing, a free report, or a product that you&#8217;re creating, this is something that I&#8217;ve stumbled upon that is really useful.</p>
<p>When you hear these two words you&#8217;ll think they are contradictory. It&#8217;s what I call structured creativity. When you think about these two words together they seem to contradict each other and it almost sounds like an oxymoron, but let me explain.</p>
<p>Structured creativity is a really good way of creating content for your blog, website, or your product (as I said before). What do I mean by this? What I mean is to create some kind of a structure and then within that structure you apply your creativity. That&#8217;s all it really is.</p>
<p>So the words seem to be clashing a bit because with structure people think there&#8217;s not much creativity and when you think about creativity that&#8217;s kind of divergent and you don&#8217;t want to have structure to that. When you apply structured creativity you can create some very, very good content very quickly.</p>
<p>Let me give you an example, that&#8217;s the easiest way to explain this. The way that I normally create a blog post is to first of all do a bit of research. I think about the topic that I want to talk or write about and then I get into brainstorming mode. The way I do brainstorming is I use a mind map. I create a mind map of the article, or the video, or the product that I want to create. I create this extensive mind map with all of the ideas that come to mind. Once I&#8217;ve done that I put it into some sort of a logical sequence, or a logical structure. There&#8217;s is no real content there. It is just the structure that I create. Then once I have that structure I rely on my creativity within each of those points to create content within that structure.</p>
<p>Now by the end of the process you end up with content that is both structured and creative. The structure part is really good for people absorbing your information and the creativity part is really good to keep people interested in what you are telling them. I use structured creativity all the time and it works really well.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s just a real quick tip from me for creating content really fast and really easily so that it is easily absorbed by your user and also comes across really cool.</p>

<p>Hi there, Gideon Shalwick here and welcome to my forest.</p>
<p>I live next to this little forest&#8230; birds in the background, you can&#8217;t see this little guy, but there&#8217;s a little dragon behind me. Maybe he&#8217;ll walk into the shot.</p>
<p>Anyway, I want to share something with you that I think will help you with your online business. Recently I had an interview with Ed Dale one of the worlds top internet marketers and also a very experienced social media user and technology expert. He flew over to the United States, was there for one day, got the Ipad and then flew back to Australia. That&#8217;s how crazy he is about it.</p>
<p>I had an interview with him and I asked him, &#8220;What are the next opportunities for us as internet marketers and bloggers for the Ipad?&#8221; He gave me some really good ideas and I&#8217;ve published the interview on my blog at www.GideonShalwick.com if you want to visit it.</p>
<p>During the interview he mentioned something that I thought was really interesting, especially for web design. He talked about one of the key things about the Ipad is that, &#8220;It gets out of the way of the user.&#8221;  When you are using the Ipad you don&#8217;t actually notice it. You just notice the application that you are using. For example, if you are using the word application, or pages, or keynotes, or itunes, you only see that. You only experience that and you don&#8217;t actually realize that the Ipad is there.</p>
<p>I thought, these guys know a thing or two about design, how can we use that for website design? It got me thinking about my own website, my own blog, and websites, and web interfaces in general. What is it that we can do to make these websites get out of the way of the user? I think that is what it&#8217;s really about. A website is about providing content and providing a user experience. Your job as the blogger or the website owner is to make sure that you get out of the way and that everything else gets out of the way so that the user can just experience what you have on your site.</p>
<p>I think that is really critical. I often see so many people spending so much time and money on the development and design of their graphics for their sites and when you get to their site that&#8217;s all you see. You see the graphics, you just see the logo, you just see the branding. Look at Google, look at the biggest search engines, look at YouTube, look at their design, it&#8217;s extremely simple. They get out of the way. You see their brand but it&#8217;s really small.</p>
<p>I think it&#8217;s a really good design principal that I&#8217;ll be applying in my future websites from now on as well and I&#8217;ll be applying it on this very blog, www.GideonShalwick.com because I think it works. The big guys are doing it and they must know something that no one else does. So, I&#8217;m going to copy that and hopefully it&#8217;s useful to you too and that you can apply it to any future pages or blogs or websites that you set up.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s it from me. Just a quick tip and thanks to Ed Dale for pointing that out.</p>

<h2>Transcript Of Today&#8217;s Video</h2>
<p>Hi there. Gideon Shalwick here. A few weeks ago I got an email from a friend asking me for an email interview. If you don&#8217;t know what this is, this person asked me to answer a bunch of email questions with email. He wanted me to reply back with some text.</p>
<p>I enjoy writing but I enjoy speaking and being in front of a camera more. I find that it is easier for me to create content using a camera and talking to you &#8220;face to face&#8221;. I figured, what the heck, I&#8217;m not going to write anything back, I&#8217;m going to create a video about it and turn it into an interview.    So, acting like it is an interview so it looks like the person is actually interviewing me live but in fact it was just me sitting there in front of the camera!</p>
<p>I want to show you the set up I have for that so you can do it too because I think it is a really easy way of creating blog content really fast and getting some really good content out there at the same time.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s what I did&#8230;</p>
<p>I had the questions from my friend on my laptop just in front of me. I was sitting on the chair in front of my laptop so I could see the questions on my screen all the time. Then I had a light at about a 45 degree angle to my face. I had the camera just in front of the light at the same height as my face was when I was sitting down.</p>
<p>This is the approximate positions I used for the light and the camera. If you are sitting in a well lit room you probably don&#8217;t need an extra light, depending on how good your camera is. I decided to use one of these fancy lights to make it look a little bit better and I was recording at night so I actually needed the light.</p>
<p>The other thing I did was, instead of looking at the camera while I was recording (because then it is obvious that no one is interviewing you) I looked at another place directly in front of me. I looked 45 degrees to the direction the camera was pointing in &#8211; another place in the kitchen, the fridge, while I was talking and acting like I was speaking to the person interviewing me. On the camera it looked like there was someone else sitting directly in front of me, interviewing me. But I was in fact sitting there looking at my fridge!</p>
<p>Something I did that helped a lot was to put a picture of someone that I could focus on in front of me so that it looked like I was speaking to someone else. You could do something similar. That&#8217;s a really cool tip, you could put a picture of someone&#8217;s face there so that it brings your interview to life and it makes it come across a lot more real. You&#8217;ll see in <a href="http://gideonshalwick.com/online-video-success-interview-with-louise-jonathan-from-profitsmasterplan-com/" target="_blank">the interview that I had in the other video with Louis</a> how that comes across&#8230;</p>
<p>I start off that video with an introduction using a splash screen with some text and then I get straight into the first question. So instead of Louis asking me the questions live I have the questions as text. Everyone else assumes the other person, in this case Louis, is sitting opposite me asking me the questions and I&#8217;m just answering. But, in fact it&#8217;s just me looking at the screen at the questions.</p>
<p>I wanted to share this technique with you as a really cool and easy way of creating content for your blog. You don&#8217;t need someone else to ask you these questions. You can come up with a bunch of questions yourself.</p>
<p>If you are going to be putting your video on YouTube, keep it brief. Probably just three or four questions. Try to keep your video between three to five minutes. That way, your videos are the most powerful and most likely to go viral. The interview I did was a bit longer but I had to answer those questions but you don&#8217;t have to. You can do less questions about a certain topic of your niche. Maybe the top five questions that you get asked in your niche. Or, whatever it is your audience is interested in.</p>
<p>You can write those questions down and have them in front of you and then just hit record. Afterward you do your editing and upload it to YouTube and send it to your list or put it on your blog and make it come across really interesting. The other thing about interviews is they are more interesting than you just speaking directly to the camera like I&#8217;m doing now. Having a bit of variation is a good idea.</p>
<p>This  technique is something I&#8217;ve done a few times now. It&#8217;s really easy and as you can see, it gives you a pretty good result and it makes you come across a lot more like an expert as well.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s it from me and I&#8217;ll see you inside the next video.</p>
