I am sure you are quite familiar with the term “Joint Venture Marketing“. Others call it Affiliate Marketing; some refer to it simply as Business Partnership.
When I started online some four to five years ago, I’ve tried many different methods and systems in positioning myself in this industry. But it was not until I understood Joint Venture Marketing that I had my first taste of real success online. And since then, it has become easy for me to create success after success in my business activities.
I believe there are two levels of JV Marketing that goes hand in hand in order to be ahead of the game. I call these Internal and External JV Marketing.
Inside this video, I talk about these two approaches. Please make sure you watch the whole video because I reveal how you can get FREE access to another video where I discuss these Joint Venture Marketing methods in more detail. You wouldn’t want to miss it because it may be just what you need to make your online business a success.
Talk soon!

In the last year or so, I’ve sold over $200,000 worth of products with this External JV Marketing approach.
About three or four years ago, I was just busy with my first very successful product online. It was the Become A Blogger project that I did with my business partner, Yaro Starak.
Back then, we launched this thing and within a couple of weeks, we managed to get about 10,000 followers. We had about 700 paying members within the first two weeks for our membership site.
This was a life-changing type of event for me. It meant that we could make a fairly significant income online. I think we has about $20,000 per month income for that little business.
Before that, of course, I’ve tried many, many different things. Nothing really worked for me. The reason, I discovered later on, was that I didn’t know about this thing called Joint Venture Marketing.
I’m sure you’ve heard the term “Joint Ventures” or “Joint Venture Marketing“. But what I’ve realized over the last four or five years that I’ve been online is that very few people actually teach a solid method or approach for how you can go about doing this.
I see that there are two levels to Joint Venture Marketing. I really believe that you need both to be able to be successful. If you miss out the one, then the other one is not really possible.
The first one is what I’ve just labeled as Internal Joint Venture Marketing. This is where you team up with one or two, or a handful at the most, other business partners, so to speak. Similar to what I did with Yaro.
This is where you come together as a group of people (two people or perhaps more) where you all have special skills that you bring to the table; and you leverage off from each other those special skills.
For example, in my case with Yaro… when we met, we both realized that I was really good with video production and creating products using video. And Yaro, on the other hand, was really good with strategy; he already had access to a reachable market; and he had some good authority in the blogging niche. So it made a lot of sense for us to come together and to do that project together.
So we leveraged off from each other. Him, from my product creation and business management skills; and Yaro, for his access to database and the authority that he already built up within that niche.
As I said before, that was a very, very successful project. I really truly believe that it’s because it was the right kind of Joint Venture relationship that we started off with.
That was the first kind of Joint Venture Marketing that I see as critical for success online. What’s really good about that sort of things is that it can give you step growth. Instead of gradual growth, it can give you step growth.
Obviously, it is perhaps a little bit more challenging to pull off if you don’t know what you’re doing. If you know what you’re doing, it’s a lot easier, of course. But when you can do it well, you can build your email database very quickly and start making money very quickly.
Of course, there’s a buildup to it but once you have it set up it can be very very successful.
The second area of Joint Venture Marketing is what I’ve labeled as External Joint Venture Marketing. There is really where it comes down to promoting other people’s products once you have your own database.
For example, a lot of people in the internet marketing space call this Affiliate Marketing where you basically promote an affiliate’s product with your affiliate link. So you send out a link to your database; people click on the link; a cookie gets set on their computer of course. And if anybody makes a purchase through your link, you get a commission. With digital products, often it is between 40% and 50%; I’ve seen even as high as 90%; sometimes even 100%.
This is really where you pretty much take advantage of the database that you’ve built up. So it’s a different kind of leverage. The first, Internal JV strategy kind of thing is the leverage is with your business partner and their skills. The External JV Marketing or Affiliate Marketing is where you take advantage or leverage from the database that you’ve built up for your own business.
This second kind of Joint Venture Marketing where you promote other people’s product as an affiliate is incredible. In the last year or so, I’ve sold over $200,000 worth of products with this External JV Marketing approach where I send an email to someone else’s product pages and make sales.
Over the past twelve months, the amount of time that I’ve spent on it would have been in the area of hours, not weeks… hours, to be able to sell that amount of products.
What’s beautiful about Affiliate Marketing is that you don;t have to create the product; you don’t have to do customer support; you don’t have to worry about the technical side, technical support, technical maintenance of the product and of the business. All you have to do is send that business customers.
That’s why it’s almost like printing money. It really is as simple as that. I want you to get to a stage where you have a nice, healthy database, you can start doing those promotions and start making money really easily.
Seriously, it is very easy to make money once you have the database. That’s why you need to have the first kind of JV Marketing sussed out first, the Internal kind of JV Marketing.
How do you do this? How do you team up with the right sort of people to help you get these Internal kind of JV Marketing right? Once you have that right, once you’ve got your database, when you start promoting other people’s products, how do you make sure that you absolutely optimize the amount of money that you could make from your promotions?
There’s a right way and a wrong way of doing this. When you do it the wrong way, it can really screw up your business big time, trust me! If you do it the right way, in a tasteful, graceful way, you can really grow your business from a long term perspective.
I’d like to share with you how I’ve done this. I’d like to invite you to join me for a longer video. It’s about 25 minutes long where I go into a lot more detail of how I’ve done this. How I’ve gone through mainly the Internal kind of JV Strategies to help me set up my own database.
Now I’m able to do these Affiliate promotions. In fact, I’m able to do more Internal JV Marketing Partnerships and also more External JV activities.
I’d like to invite you. In the next few days, I’d be releasing a 25-minute long video or thereabout that you can get access to. You don;t have to pay anything for that video. It’ll be about 25 minutes long. All that you have to “pay” for it is your name and email address, then you’ll get access to that 25-minute long video.
This will happen in a few days time, so please watch your email inbox. If you’re not on my email newsletter yet, make sure you subscribe at www.RapidVideoBlogging.com.
If you’re on that list, we’ve got your email address confirmed, you’ll get sent an email to that longer 25-minute long video. This has really been something that’s instrumental in my success online. Obviously, success is not just one thing, it’s many many different things together. But the Joint Marketing side of my business has been a huge part of my success online.
I’d love for you to have access to that 25-minute long video coming up in the next few days. Please make sure you watch your inbox over the next few days. I’ll be sending that out real soon.
Also, I’d love to hear your thoughts on this sort of topic and what you think about how I’ve defined Internal and External JV Marketing. What do you think about it? What are your thoughts? Have you had some success with it? Do you have tips for everyone else watching this and reading the comments below? How to become successful at this. Let’s share the ideas and see how we can help each other.
Also, if you haven’t subscribed to my channel yet, there’s a subscribe link right here. I’d love to have you as one of my subscribers on YouTube as well.
Thank you so much for watching… And also, tell me what you think about this format of video with my face quite close to the camera and in the middle of the screen, a bit more intimate like this.
Let me know what you think.
Talk to you soon. Bye!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on joint ventures. I am looking forward to
your longer video on that subject coming out soon. I do not have any
experience with affiliates yet, but I believe you have to be very careful
to only promote products which 100 % fit to your clients and which you
really are convinced of. You also need to be sure that your affiliate
partner has a great customer service. If you don’t take care on this I
believe you can easily damage your authority.
@418brian hehehe – no makeup

“Joint Venture” is just another term for one marketer pimping out his list to another marketer.
Disgusting!
By the way, what membership site solution do you recommend, Gideon? I saw somebody write that you had made a video about that, but I couldn’t find it. Thanks!

@TechSupport100 No thats affiliate marketing. JV is when two or more companies goes together and makes some business together. Example: I used to work in a company that sold a product in health care. They had a competitor that sold the same product but with small differences in design etc. These two companies started a JV where they shared research results and both ended up making new and better products which would not have been possible if they were to have all expenses for research themselves

Howdy Gideon,
Re: Close up angle.
Personally I prefer the other video’s, where you have been further back. Body language is huge reading area for people and we’re missing most of your upper body in this video.

@moggiex Agree!
Great video Gideon… look forward to the main video! Format is good, I like direct information without any whistles or bells to distract from just relevant, useful and interesting information.
Good job closer to the camera. Nothing wrong with the other, but this content works with you closer. I would vary it depending on your content. Both have merits. And a different look will tend to keep your delivery method from getting stale – something we all have to watch out for. In fact, I see some content come that is so similar every time that I can nearly guarantee that it is being ignored by their contact list almost entirely.

[..YouTube..] Call me a boring traditionalist but I still refer to it as “List Building” and “Affiliate Marketing”.
The important thing is not to betray your list’s trust by promoting crap. If you build yourself up as an authority in a niche, your audience are relying on you to bring new innovations, tools, systems and thinking to their attention… they don’t necessarily have to created by you; but you must believe in them
New on camera format good… a bit Ed Dale, and less manic-looking than Rich Schefren.
[..YouTube..] Hi Gideon.
Im a 15 year old boy that likes to help people with pc problems and make videos on youtube. I have buyed the killeryoutubestrategies and i have get a lot of help, but i cant get so many views. [..YouTube..] want to learn more about JV – will register for next video – especially interested in your systemization of it
[..YouTube..] Good video. Would like to see one that explains your backlinking strategy. I’ve been reverse engineering some of it, but I can’t isolate the software. I know this isn’t exactly your forte, but clearly you’re doing well with it.

[..YouTube..] Gideon, great timing with your video. I am in the process of talking to a couple of internal venture partners and I am looking to determine the best way to structure that partnership. I have a colleague that has just done and internal joint venture partnership And he had amazing success building his list with it
[..YouTube..] Gideon, I really your simple one on one style of video. It’s kind of like having a coffee with you.
This JV issue is very timely for most of us. I would like to learn how you do affiliate marketing with video. I’ve been thinking about this and how exactly to do this, so I’m following …..
thanks for everything.

What´s the minimum mass of members in database for offering to affiliate sellers?
Thanks.
Hi Gideon,

Thanks.
[..YouTube..] Hey Gideon. Thnx for breaking this down and making it sound simple and doable. I’ll be sure to catch the 25 minute video you speak of. Don’t mind making 2 or 3 … 25 min videos for us. As for the close up talking head ~ I like it, but your fancy t shirts are always fun to look at too sometimes. Thnx man ~
quickest and easiest marketing ever. Thanks for reinforcing the idea. I Like the close up shot
Gideon. Good stuff as usual, can’t wait for the longer video. I do like the close up format. Will try it ion my next video.
Gideon. Excellent presentation. Real warmth and frendilness comes accross which makes you very trustworthy. In my video rental kiosk business I do what is termed cross marketing with all successful location owners. The best locations for me are those that are using movie rentals to draw-in additional sales that can be tied to a video rental/sale.
Hey Gideon this is a great distinction you have made. I’ve built my entire business on both these methods and done correctly they are very powerful. I know people below have said the external JV method is just affiliate marketing but I see a clear distinction that sets you apart from others. You don’t approach referring other people’s products as an affiliate. You choose carefully and treat each one as a long term JV relationship. Much higher integrity & long term profit.
Format? Like mixing it up and honestly Gideon? I love watching you in close up 😉
Yes I like this style too – a bit of shock at first but then I’m thinking – this guys got guts to be so closeup and personal. The best thing about you (and Yaro) is your ‘normal’ style – no yelling or hyperactive histrionics – I really appreciate that. If you had been one of those super-charged shouters AND closeup you would have lasted about 2 secs with me. But instead, I”m now eagerly awaiting your long video.
Thanks for all your useful info.
I like the closer style. It seems like you’re talking directly to me. As I think about my own preferences when it comes to videos, variety keeps me interested. Some topics are better up close, some in motion (walking), indoors, outdoors, studio, or home. There’s something to be said for consistency, but changing it up a bit (not drastically) seems like a good idea to keep my attention.
As I think about my own videos, I think I’ll change it up this week just based on your question. Thanks!
Hi, Gideon,
Personally, I think the old-style videos are less “invasive”, and yes, I like to see the body language too.
Talking about JVs, I guess it is really the fastest way to achieve a larger audience, specially in the beginning, but I’d like to ask: if you’re not well-known yet, how do you convince a well-established blogger to have a JV with you?
Cheers,
Ana
ooh yeh … can’t wait! bring it on ….
ooh yeh … can’t wait! bring it on ….
Thanks for the info Gideon. Yes I think JV is the way to go, and leverage what you have achieved so far. I would be interested in the strategies you use to hook up with a “large list person”, to convince them to do a JV with you? Cheers, Brent
Hey Gids,
Sounds like a new project getting released…
Personally I have seen and watched your growth with Yaro and other marketers and it’s been fun to be part of the journey as well.
@captureimaging – what I’ve learnt from Gideon and Yaro is to give something to them first and provide value before asking them to do a JV – interview them or help out them in what they need. That will ensure a long term relationship. “It’s Long Term”
@Outsourcinglive thanks for the advice, yes, add value before asking for it back. Considering becoming a guest poster to digital-photography-school, I have so much to give, just wonder what the best strategy is for a 1 man band like me? Cheers, Brent

I would firstly leave comments on the blog and ensure that each comment is of value to the reader so when they come to look at your guest post – then at least you have some form of interaction with the blog already. Isn’t that also Darren’s blog as well? – Digital-Photography-School?
yes it’s Darrens blog too. Thanks again. Brent
Great video Gideon, I always enjoy them.
Do you have any special advice for network marketers ?
I find the whole notion of JV Partners quite scary. All my business life I have seen partnership disasters. Good friend \s become enemies. I even know one famliy personaly where two brothers have not talked to each other for 30 years.
How do you avoid these problems?
It’s a bit over my head, but im interested. Why are you just showing ur face? Did u stop working out? Hahaha a half body is more expressive.
Helpful advice Gideon, thanks!….I got so much out of your Rapid Video Blogging course and continue to learn from your videos here as well. JV’s are so vital to the success of any business, particularly to internet marketing, keep up the great content, looking forward to it!
I purchased your JV course and really felt it was well worth the price. Undervalued even for the amount of information it provided. The case studies really rocked. Thanks again!
Bryan
