Also, you have pretty decent lighting… I know you have sun light coming in from your right. How else did you light your video?

Also, you are very well spoken. Most people out there are not as well spoken as you are in front of the camera. And most people don’t know how to cut from tight to wide vice versa like you are doing on this video.

One definitely becomes more comfortable and natural over time, as you get more used to yourself in front of the camera

Thanks for spilling out the myths and breaking them. Fortunately, I’ve loved video so much that I also wanted to help people through this medium. At first it might not be too easy to create quality videos and having you looking professional and sounding professional at the same time as well.

Honestly, I’m much comfortable this time so it’s all about practice and then it’s not going to be hard anymore.

I think you forgot #4: Not wanting to be in front of the camera. Not everyone is as good looking as you and we all don’t have sexy accents to go along with the good looks. Some of us are just camera shy and have been and always will be. It looks like screen shots for us shy guys.

I don’t use free software myself, but for people just starting out, this is a good option.

But even the software I use now costs less than 100 dollars. So, from a professional video production point of view, this is extremely affordable.

I’ve found it becomes easier the more you do it.

Another idea is to get someone else to be in front of the camera for you. They could either read a script you’ve given them, or if they are an expert, you can just do some kind of a jv deal with them. Like I did with Jay Jay at http://www.FreeMagicLive.com.

What camera did you shot this video on, compared to the previous video.?

It seems a lot clearer. Was it the lightning? Was it the file format you exported in?

Would love for you to tell what you did differently.

However, it does depend slightly on the niche – I blog in the travel niche and the videos I produce tend to be a bit more complex and I’ve found that Windows Movie Maker was not up to scratch as I couldn’t do video overlay. So I spend around £40 on entry level video editing software that was more versatile – not a huge expense but not free.

One tip for people who are really on a shoe string budget is that they may find that their existing stills camera already has a video function, so they could use that to at least get started.

Meanwhile you seem totally at ease chatting away to yourself and eyeballing the camera as if it’s your best mate! I but it’s like anything else – practice makes perfect. Thanks for all your tips, I’ll keep at it.

Excellent myth busters you’ve raised! I have to admit it was thanks to you that I started to get into video and since then a lot of people have been asking me how I create high quality videos. Well, I always send them over to your GetYourVideosOnline website and lots of people have been thanking me for that too.

I also agree with you about myth 2 – that technology is available and it’s not expensive to create good videos. Even the simplest webcam will do the job which may not be anymore than $100.00.

By the way, Mac rocks! Thanks to your recommendations I’ve increased my productivity and created lots of awesome videos for my members.

But the time it takes to setup, edit and export the videos with green screens are just a little nuts.

So, this solution is nice and fast for me – which is the name of the game for online video in my view – fast but still high quality

I’m just using a black screen – it’s a piece of black material that I got from the material shop for a few bucks – actually, my wife got it for me.

Not using a script at the moment – just talking from my head – it seems to come out more natural that way, which is what I want. Still working on being more personable in my vids
