Would you like to know to create professional videos instantly? Keep watching and I’ll share with you my secret tip for making your videos look professional instantly.
Hi there! Welcome back to another video. Inside this video, I like to share with you the secret little things or tricks that I use to make my videos look professional instantly. I’m really talking about sort of instant little tricks you can use to make your videos look professional.
There are some things that I use inside my videos to help me make them look great. For example, I use a white background. In one of my previous videos, I showed you how to do that cost effectively and very easily. Also, I always talk about getting really good audio; like I’m using a microphone jack here.
But apart from that, there are some other things you could do to make your videos look fantastic instantly. Of course, when your videos look fantastic, people respond to that. There’s a subconscious trigger that happens inside people’s minds when they watch your video and they notice that it has been done professionally, or at least that it looks professional.
So with this method that I want to teach you basically, you don’t need any complicated software. You don’t need to use a professional video editor that’s expensive. And also, it’s something that you can do very, very quickly; it doesn’t have to take forever.
I want to show you inside this video how I actually do that. In fact, without further ado, I’m going to show you on my screen here exactly what I do to make my videos look professional instantly.
Let’s have a look. Let’s hop over to my screen here. What I’ve got here in front of me is the video editing program that I use. I normally use Screenflow for doing my video editing. This is when I don’t get my own professional video editor to do the editing for me. This is one of where I just wanted something really quick and make it look professional instantly.
What I’m going to do here is just import my video files. So I already have three little files here. I’ll talk about them in a second. I’ll just import them, there three little files. Then I’ll also import the actual video that I’ve recorded on a previous occasion.
What I’ve got here now are three files. I’ve got a little intro file; I’ve got a little outro file; and I’ve got a little lower third file. And the other thing is original video that I recorded on another occasion. It’s about a 5-minute or a 3-minute video, whatever it is.
The intro, outro and lower third – this is really my secret sauce that I have here for making my video look professional instantly. You might have seen my current video, that you’re watching right now, or some of my previous videos where I use intro, outro and lower third to just give it that extra lift, to round it off; to put the cherry on the cake, so to speak.
As I said, it creates a subconscious trigger to get people to take your videos seriously; or just to give the impression that you’re serious about your video production side of things.
Let’s get into it… So all you’ve got to do here is basically get your intro right on the front. You might have to just resize things here a little bit. This one, I’m just going to resize it slightly so it fits into the screen. Now, I might add my actual video. Because it’s a little bit bigger, I might have to resize that as well, let’s see. Yeah, it needs to get smaller, a little bit. This is my video. Then I’m going to add my outro. I’m simply clicking and dragging here. This is very simple sort of stuff. I was going to just make it fit properly.
Alright, so there we have it! Now I have my video intro right at the beginning. I have my normal video. And I have my outro. How easy was that to do?
The last thing I want to add is my lower third. I normally like adding it towards the front, normally when I introduce myself as you can see there. Let me just scale it up a bit so it’s about the right size. There it is. So now my lower third will show up here towards the front. I put it right in front of my video so that I could show you the test. Or at least, you will have seen this exact same thing in any of my previous videos. I want to show you this one because it takes time to process it.
Basically, if you look at this now, all I did was I imported my existing intro file, my outro file and my lower third, and also the video that I want to edit. I added my intro; I added my outro with the clip and I added my lower third on top of that.
I mean, how easy was that? The only next thing that’s left is to basically click on export and upload to YouTube and I’ve got a very, very professional result from that. If you want to tweak this a little bit, of course you can have some transition between the intro and your content, and also between your content and the outro, just give it a nice transition between those clips. It’s up to you how you want to deal with them, but obviously, it’s super simple. As I said, once you’ve got these things in place, it just gives your video that extra lift to make it look really cool.
I’ve got mine done at Splasheo. Team Splasheo has done that for me. Just as a disclaimer of course, I am the founder of the Splasheo business. But the team that I am building there is independent from my other businesses that I’m running. The team there has created these files for me that I now just use on all my videos. As you can see, it’s super easy, super fast. Once you’ve got those files, it doesn’t cost you anything extra to use them inside your videos.
If you’re interested in getting something done for yourself as well, these are fully customized video clips that you can get created for you as well. As I said, create them once and you could use them over and over, as many times as you want. It’ll help speed up your production. It’ll help your production look a lot more professional. Because of that, you don’t have to hire a really expensive video editor to really give it this nice professional look. Just get these clips done once and use them over and over inside your video.
If you are interested, go to www.Splasheo.com/custom. I have a link below this video or somewhere on this page to go to that page. Just keep in mind that because it is a custom service, we will probably only be able to take on, at the moment, five jobs at a time. So if it does get flooded with orders, I’m going to have to just close that page or create some sort of an early notification list and then we will be able to contact you once the team is ready to take on board these jobs.
Obviously, you can do this for yourself as well. You don’t have to use the custom service from Splasheo. If you have a bit of skill or you know someone who can do this for you, you’re more than welcome to do that. Splasheo business, the custom side of it at least, specializes in that. They’ll be able to take care of you to create exactly what you want. All you need is to basically upload your logo and any text that you might need for your outro and for your lower third, and they’ll take care of the rest. It’s really simple as that.
Thanks again for watching. I look forward to seeing you inside my next video.

Hey Gideon! I would love to have one of these custom made but the packages that there are. Just too expensive! I know you need to cover cost but $500 is too much!
Just some feedback.
What editing program is that? It looks like the old iMovie. I didn’t hear the name, sorry if you say it in the video
ScreenFlow – I think it costs around 100 bucks. Definitely my top kind of software for doing quick videos like this…
I will definitely try Screenflow, and thanks for the tip, but the link is not working.
Hello, Gideon. What microphone do you use with you Edirol recorder. I bought one of those after I saw you using it, but none of my lapel microphones seem to work with my Edirol R-05. Btw, I love your videos. Thank you for sharing!
check my personal blog on the resource page – I list my equipment there…
@GideonShalwick Thank You.
your’e very welcome!
I techbannana! I’m working on some things for the future. I can’t say too much right now, but I think channels such as your own would benefit from it greatly! Keep watching…
Splaheo is good but again, it should be edited as per requirement (colours).
ok cool – but I’m not quite sure what you mean?
great video Gideon ,but I have a question, How do you hide all the youtube elements in your video frame? I know you can hide the top info bar by modify the html code, but I dont know how to modify the lower bar.
Appreaciate and looking forward to your reply
Max
Ah – I am using a special piece of software for that – just testing it at the moment. Will soon have a video review about it…
Hey Max,
To hide the control bar on YouTube, you can add the following as part of your embed code “controls=0″
For a full list of embed options for your YouTube videos, check out this page:
https://developers.google.com/youtube/player_parameters#controls
Cheers,
Hani
Cheers Hani! There are also some easier ways… but I will create another video for that later
Great content as always, Gideon.
You are the best!
Thanks for all you do.
Max,
re: “I know you can hide the top info bar by modify the html code, but I dont know how to modify the lower bar.”
Need to add “autohide=1″ to the Youtube iframe embed code.
… I’ve got something that will do it for you:
http://www.davewooding.com/tools/?q=youtubeembed#youtubeembed
Set Autohide video control to Partially.
Dave
As always Gideon you rock. I was just about to higher a freelancer, but don’t have to anymore. But this video just sinplified the process for me.
Thanks

Excellent stuff Kantis! Glad you liked the video! Looking fwd to see some more greatness from you!
Great work! Advice me how I can make this blog to look great here is my link http://www.happylifejourney.com your tips will be highly appreciated
Good video as always, Sir. I’m having a bit of an issue with Splasheo. I give credit to you in my description, and I’ve used a Splasheo twice. Every time I use Splasheo my videos got locked “under review” for monetization over on YouTube. Do you have any ideas why this is happening?
Hi Kendra
Hmmm… I have not seen this happen with anyone else yet, and I also use the same clips inside my own videos successfully. Could you please share the exact process you go through when you monetize your videos? We are just about to upload a royalty free license for free video outro clips that you can use in case YouTube wants to see a copy of it.
If you don’t feel comfortable sharing your process here, you are more than welcome to email support@splasheo.com – the team can then interact with you there.
Great video. How do you create or produce your Intro and outro? The effects and such. I use Adobe Premiere for my editing but not alot of options as far as lower thirds and intros.
Thanks
Did you watch the whole video Jacob? Cos I explain how mine was created inside the video. But basically it’s the team at http://www.splasheo.com who did it for me…
How did you add a clickable link inside the video? I saw a recent software launch – simple video pro could do similar things but I am specifically interested in how you did in this video.
Thanks.
I’m just testing the software at the moment, and will soon create a review video about it…
Hi Gideon
What do you mean with “lower third”?
Reijo
Just the cool little animation that comes up with my name and website at the bottom of my videos. Kinda similar to what you might see on news shows where the show the anchor person’s name when they start presenting…
Hi Gideon
Thanks for the quick reply. Wasn´t familiar with the term. Now I am.
Like your tips.
Reijo
Hey Gideon, I’ve been studying your videos for a while now and the one thing that you forgot to mention (that I especially like and think is particularly “professional”) is your *brief* teaser intro before your logo stinger. To me, it gives it a “television” feeling. In addition, it’s good branding because people are less likely to tune out due to the pattern-interrupt. Great job, as always!
Gideon, Your audio quality is always great. What kind of clip on mic do you use?
Hey Rob – check my resources page at http://gideonshalwick.com/resources/ to see my latest setup
(scroll down a bit, it’s under Video Recording Equipment)
How do you add pictures to a video like you do can you please make a tutorial.
hey Gideon how do you make the lower third?
and what video editing software is it?
the team at splasheo.comdid it for me… they use Adobe after effects…
Hey techbanana – check the link in the description area now… something cool there for you now…
@GideonShalwick Ok ill take a look.
Hi Gideon,
Love your channel and I try to apply alot of advice that you give. Recently I have been enabled by YouTube to upload custom thumbnails and I was hoping you could do a video on the style of yours.
Thanks
Hello,
I just discovered your channel, and it is really helping me, I have been wanting to learn about videos for a very long time. I wanted to ask you something very important for me,
where did you learn about making videos, what school did you go to? what school do you know about that is specialized in this? I really would like to know, please answer me
anyway..i love your videos and I am so glad I found you!!
everything is self taught for me
Hey dude Im making videos which in my opinion are awesome but apparently not to others, you see the thing is a got quite a lot of views in my previous videos now all my updated videos have less views…? I do clubpenguin so the my videos are most-certainly in the gaming section! I subbed oh and please update to me about my channel!!!
the team at splasheo creates the lower thirds for me – just google “splasheo” and it should be the first result…
hi gideon,
splasheo sounds nice. I have only two questions: – when are the other two components ready? I mean the outro and the lower third.. because what should I do with all of it, if I can’t have all three? So will there be a package for everything combined?
- second: can I even purchase an intro if I still have to develop an psd logo?
or is their maybe a option planned for the future, where splasheo also designs the logo?
thxs and have a great weekend
Very soon now
1. Will send out an email to the splasheo list once it’s ready. So, make sure you are subscribed there: http://www.splasheo.com.
2. There is an option to simply animate text. For example the name of your site, or whatever you want in place of a logo. Splasheo most likely will not be designing logos – I recommend you use a service like http://www.logomyway.com or http://www.logotournament.com or even http://www.99designs.com to get a professional logo created.
Hope this helps!
Great tips as always.
Even though our videos never end up being as white and professional as yours.
All the best.
Hi Gideon!
I’m loving your videos and putting a lot of stuff into practice for my video launch. I also love the animated Splasheo I got, highly recommend! My question (sorry if this is not the right place to put it) is: if you are planning to use the new Joost video SEO plugin for WP that just came out, how important is it to still do video transcriptions? Are you planning to review the plugin for video blogging? It sounds awesome, and I’m taking to heart the advice on making your life simpler while making your videos, so I just want to make sure to leverage something like the plugin with your advice simultaneously. Thanks!
Kat
Hi Gideon,
You have amazing resources. Please help–I’m attempting to design a blog w/the Optimizepress theme; how do I get my template to look like yours?
I use a professional coder for customizing my sites. Currently for the gideonshalwick.com site, it uses a customized version of the canvas theme.
i need more vewis
The Splasheo intro I was looking at getting for my videos is only $47, for me that is £29.00 British pounds, which is a bargain.
Free adverting and marketing for you there Gideon… lol… ; )
Yes, I think the prices have been lowered or something! They were originally $500
Can you any way get it for free?
there are some free versions at splasheo . com.
Wow, you are smart , because you have your intro from 00:14 ot 00:17 and only 15 seconds of watching is needed for youtube to count as a view , so that’s something really smart
Nice video s Gideon…Who made your intro and outdo? And pric ewise
Keep it up
Wow! This is awesome. I was just given some homework if you want to call it that to produce a video with some of the elements that you are going through. I held my head in frustration until I found your channel. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Hi Gideon, really my respect you are putting some great tips together here. I loved the idea of putting the subfield in there and didn’t notice how I myself have the trigger fired off until you mention it. With the professional setup, it’s just like I’m watching a professional TV channel.
I just noticed that you give a 10 second preview of what’s to come in the video, only then you follow up with the intro, and then you go into the video. Would you get into your reason for that? I can see it as giving a good preview to keep people engaged so they won’t click away.
Thanks
I got a problem… I am on a mobile device and I need a different download type…. Maybe apk…
I wanted an intro just now, 91 Bloody pounds, Screw that, I’m only 13.
You sir, are a god. Thanks so much!
